Sep. 29th, 2010 02:49 pmSo last Thursday I go to check on my car and apparently it's been gathering tickets. What! What for? I did not know. After some careful consideration I determined that perhaps the spot I was in looked like it might not actually be a parking spot, but just something that looks very much LIKE a parking spot. So I moved my car and prepared to pay the tickets.
But on Friday I had another ticket. WHAT FOR NOW. I take them home with me over the weekend and Dad thinks to check my parking registration. They have my license plate number wrong! That must be it. They think I stole somebody else's parking pass or something LOL. So I call and get it fixed, ask about the tickets, the girl says just bring them in and they'll be taken care of.
I come back on Sunday, can't get to the parking services office until today. Also don't have time to check my car. I finally do and...MORE TICKETS. ?! I bring them with me and the girl at parking services tell me the tickets are because apparently I was parked in a commuter lot.
A commuter lot?!
The lot is named after one of the residential halls. It took me forever to find a sign identifying it as a commuter lot - I finally did - not at any of the entrances or anywhere in the parking lot itself, but on a road leading from the back sports fields to the lot. One of the few of many entrances. The rest of the signs all just say 'Bridgewater Parking' or something similar.
So yeah I got a total of 9 tickets. For a total of $270. I'm appealing them to see if I can get any knocked off, but they might not get to me for three weeks, by which time the oldest ones will start getting penalty fees. Ughhhhh.
