Grabbed this from [livejournal.com profile] anobjectinspace, my sole meme provider.

1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
Oh. Ah. Ummmm...a few things. Went to a communist country. Participated in the Fed Challenge...I haven't done any academic competitions since I was in high school, and that was a very different sort, nothing like the Fed Challenge. I (finally) got into therapy.

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I generally don't do resolutions P: I have goals, but putting time limits on goals is not something I do. There are some big goals I hit this year though. Getting a therapist, starting writing again, narrowed in on my academic goals.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die? Well...Matt. I hadn't seen him in ages and I dunno how 'close' he (or I) would have considered us to be, but...yeah, I liked him.

5. What countries did you visit? People's Republic of China!

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011? Oh. Hmm. Things that I would like to have next year...some confidence in my ability to be independent, I guess. Maybe a good start on some fictional writing pieces.

7. What date(s) from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Dates? I don't even know what today's date is. I don't remember things by date. Some days I will remember, as an experience...most of the ones I spent in China. The day of the Fed Challenge. The day [livejournal.com profile] anobjectinspace (finally) asked me if we could message on Yahoo P: Surprisingly, not the day I (finally) broke things off with Amanda. Frankly, I hardly remember it. Maybe that's not so surprising though.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I was going to say 'finally breaking up with Amanda' but TBH it was more realizing that I didn't actually have to put up with any of her shit in the first place. Learning to find people I can trust, and also learning to trust them, which is something I am still working on but I think I'm doing a bang-up job so far.

9. What was your biggest failure? Failure? Neh....oh, I lost 'honors' status at school, due to something to do with the class requirements. But...I was looking for a way out of that anyway. I would like to do independent research eventually, but the fact that I would have had to get it done, this year or next...I don't think I would have.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Broke my foot and didn't tell anyone lolol

11. What was the best thing you bought? Oh...um...I don't know. Maybe my Christmas gift for Paige. She really seemed to like it.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? I would have to go with [livejournal.com profile] anobjectinspace and [livejournal.com profile] ocelotofdoom. They've been putting up with all my terrible insecurities and other emotional issues and keep doing ridiculous things like caring what I think. [livejournal.com profile] ocelotofdoom has also been an absolute darling in understanding how stressful social situations are for me and being incredibly helpful in getting me out in society.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? I guess Amanda's, but at this point...it wasn't much of a surprise. Also, my dad's, lately. I thought we were doing better, and in some ways he's been really great, but in others...not so much.

14. Where did most of your money go? Oh, um...clothes. Computer games. Frivolous things. Not nearly as much to charity this year as last year.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Hmmmm...going to China :3 and participating in the Fed Challenge, and getting to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] ocelotofdoom after. Also, [livejournal.com profile] anobjectinspace in general.

16. What song will always remind you of 2011? I...what? Sorry, I don't think I code memories like that.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: i. Happier or sadder? Happier, I think. ii. Thinner or fatter? LOL fuck off. iii. Richer or poorer? Tough question. I was richer earlier in the year, but then I spent ALL OF IT. So I guess poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? IDK. Spent more time in China? Does that count?

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Trying to patch things up with Amanda.

20. How will you be spending Christmas? Spent it with immediate family, as always. Was nice c:

21. How will you be spending New Year's Eve? Probably at home eating Domino's while parents+at least one sib are out at a party. I don't generally do New Year's Eve parties. Even if it were to be a party of people I liked, I start getting cranky and antisocial around midnight.

22. Did you fall in love in 2011? Hmmm. I don't know yet.

23. How many one-night stands? LOL oh lord do I look like someone people would have one-night stands with? Anyways, haven't really done that...sex...thing yet. At all. Let alone this year.

24. What was your favorite TV program? Oh, um, probably Colbert Report. Which, BTW, I have heard some SJ-oriented people call the TV equivalent of a hipster telling an 'ironic' racist joke, but I really don't see it that way. People who tell -ist jokes and then claim it was irony are really just covering up for the fact that they don't want to have to think about the fact that racism, etc. are still alive and well. Colbert is using irony (in particular, sarcasm) to illuminate systemic -isms in the US, not ignore it. That's just how I see it though, would love to hear other opinions.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Amanda

26. What was the best book you read? His Majesty's Dragon!!!!

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Miku-tan!!!!!!!!

28. What did you want and get? Emotional stability. Friends who do not, in fact, think I am a terrible person, or else are really good at hiding it if they do.

29. What did you want and not get? A cat :C

30. What was your favorite film of this year? X-Men First Class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were a lot of good superhero films this year really, but my heart will always belong to X-Men, and it was a damn good movie IMO.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Oh, god, I don't remember. My birthday is in January FFS. I turned 20. Based on what I usually do, I am quite sure I celebrated it at home with immediate family and had an ice cream cake. Also, I think Paige might have given me her copy of Animal Crossing for the DS as a gift?

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Ummmm, a cat. Or living closer to [livejournal.com profile] anobjectinspace maybe.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011? Texfag geek. Butch, but with some purple, pink and rainbow shirts. Sensible outerwear with some flamboyant but functional scarves. Jeans for every occasion, and shiny sneakers that match my Iron Man t-shirt.

34. What kept you sane? I will go with the obvious answer here; my therapist. Although maybe not so much kept me sane as kept me from assaulting my mom. Also, retreating into the trans community has done wonders for my stress levels.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Ummm...Colbert 6 u 9 or possibly Ron Ben Israel.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? Stirred me? IDK. I still watch political issues more as warning signs for how close we are to some variety of American holocaust than anything else. The personhood act made me very nervous and angry.

37. Who did you miss? Matt. And Corey, but I'll always miss Corey.

38. Who was the best new person you met? I dunno. I can never remember how long I've known people. I think I met [livejournal.com profile] ocelotofdoom just this year? I think [livejournal.com profile] anobjectinspace was last year...or...maybe not? We got a lot closer this year though.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011: Who I am is actually okay. I'm not a good person, but I do good things, sometimes. And there's no need to punish myself or let others punish me for things about me that I can't change.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: I...oh...um...*scratches chin* ...maybe I'll come back to this one.

YAY look how amazing I am! *dances*

LOL at the yahoo thing. You could have asked me, yaknow :-P I don't even know why it took me so long tbh... things just don't occur to me.

I'm glad I've been able to be one of the people helping you out :-)

Sorry I'm so AWOL atm by the way, Jim's still off work for Xmas and between that and minecraft (often at the same time) I haven't been/won't be around much for a couple of days. But I still love ya! *sends creepy loves on little skittery legs to appear from behind things and leap at you*

Uh. Too much minecraft.

I definitely more than tolerate you. I might even almost like you by now...

You are definitely Doin' It Wrong. Hil, Jim and I played on our private server for about 5 hours today. Jim has mined a super huge deep mineshaft, and is currently flattening a mountain to make a tree farm. Hil made a house and cleared a load of land around it. I've made a wheat farm, got pet cows and sheep (dyed cool colours), and have just started a chicken farm.

We're doing pretty well :-) And it's hilarious fun hanging out together doing it. We all get to laugh at Jim when he breaks a block and gets attacked by larva, or Hil when her fence post won't go on the right way, or me when a cow pushes me into the lake. And we get to share gorgeous places we find and ideas we have and stuffs.

It's awesome! But I definitely prefer playing it with people to single player.

Well gee, mister * u *

See that's the thing about minecraft, I see everyone doing it and having so much fun and it should appeal to me because like, creepy things, building things, and harassing animals are some of my favorite things to do, but apparently I JUST DON'T LIKE IT ;A; I must be broke or something
