1) bring a photo for reference
and
2) get the stylist excited about my hair
Got the best haircut I've ever had today :D! And it was far from the frustrating experience that I sometimes have at Supercuts ('surely you don't want your hair THAT short...?' 'yes, that short.' 'But...I mean...you want like a pixie cut, right?')
It's also only the second time the stylist included the sideburns from the reference. She asked (the guy last time didn't, just did them).
And she taught me the key to taming my hair without it looking all stringy. I have to go buy some pomade. (This is in addition to copious thinning - my hair is incredibly thick and difficult, made moreso by the cowlick right bang front and center)
