(no subject)
Dec. 31st, 2012 04:20 amSo I was just re-watching Dark Knight Rises
(expect some potential fanart in the future of
etirabys's Bianca Wayne)
at like, 3 AM, because that's a fairly typical occupation for me at 3 AM. And my brother came downstairs and got a drink and then informed me he was sleeping on the couch because his room is haunted.
No further explanation. I'LL CHECK IT OUT IN THE MORNING.
Not surprised though, his room was made from half of my old room, which had a lot of activity. Notable incidents that come to mind...the time I had a friend over and we both stopped in the middle of conversation to watch an amorphous, blobby shadow move to the corner of the room and hover there for quite some time, and the breathing I used to hear coming from the closet. Oh, and y'all have probably heard this one already, but the time I was home alone and the door started opening on me changing and I yelled and it slammed shut, was in that room.
UNRELATEDLY, have I told y'all about Mask Pig, aka 'the mask'? I don't think so. Well, remember my Halloween costume from this year? (Which will be last year, shortly...happy new year!) Well, I got two masks - the one that I bought seperately, and a lower-quality, darker/rustier one that came with the outfit, which I didn't wear. Well, I put away the rest of my costume when I took it off, but I must have left the unused mask in my room somewhere...the next weekend, I came home to one of my good-sized piggy banks - the black chalkboard one - wearing the mask and staring at me from my dresser.
AND THUS, MASK PIG WAS BORN.
We've all taken turns hiding it around upstairs - my personal favorites so far have been putting it on the half-wall next to the stairs, facing
dakfire's door so it was staring at her when she opened it later that night. And the time I put it on her pillow and put another pillow under the covers.
I walked in on it next to the sink in the bathroom about ten minutes ago. I tried moving just the mask to the shower to hang off a thing on the wall, but the mask wasn't having it (it has hair attached, so it's very top-heavy) so I just put it back where it was. I think I've got another place for it, though...
EDIT: oh and I forgot to mention~ I'm considering moving to another site. The dwindling member base on LJ wouldn't bother me, but the constant downtime is an issue, and it's making me twitchy since I have a lot of things here I'd like to have backed up soon in case the site goes down for good. Everyone seems to be going to Dreamwidth, so that's my default plan, but are any of you guys going anywhere else I should know of?
The main alternative is doing an actual blog on like, WordPress or some shit, but then I would have to generate real content and not just photos of my dog wearing antlers and sleeping. But that's not really the same thing as an LJ/Dreamwidth/etc. kind of blogging platform, is it? I don't get the same sense of community from it. So that might end up being something I do in addition to keeping on as I have been here. And it would probably be filled primarily with info on faeries, probably.
