Suck with a Thousand Faces

I find it increasingly amusing how often I am reminded now that my senior high school English class was not so much an English class as a venue through which our teacher could preach about Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell. I don't recall any of the essays in that class being evaluated for grammar, spelling, or even basic writing skills. I learned nothing about writing in that class. On the other hand, I did learn how to critically examine a story from an archetypal standpoint, which, although rather fun, is not really something I feel an entire year of high school should be dedicated to, considering it has absolutely no real-world application.
On the upside, I did write a ten-page paper applying the adventure steps in Campbell's Hero with a Thousand Faces to the Iron Man movie. And one of my major points revolved around his suit having girl-hips.
