So.
WHY IS IT COLD OUT NOW.
We finally finished the coop (where 'finished' means 'the chickens can live there now' rather than 'there is no more work to be done') and moved them in yesterday without accounting for how cold it would get. THEY WERE SHIVERING THIS MORNING. I am a terrible chicken parent.
I put their heat lamp in there today so they should be okay now.

I spent most of yesterday sitting in the coop to work on it....

Coop with bedding (pine shavings and hay) :D

Aaaand chickens! This is from this morning, after they were settled in a bit, but before I got the heat lamp in. They're using the perches happily, they love the highest one, but there's poop on the other one so I assume they're using it too.

The temperature wasn't the only problem we found this morning. They keep filling their foodbowl with sawdust, so they can't get to the food. This morning I dumped all the food and sawdust out (they're eating it here) and refilled it, and put it in the future nestbox (still needs a seperater put in) but they moved it down onto the floor and filled it with sawdust AGAIN. We need to get a hanging one, soon.

OH THANK GOD, FOOD.

Dad tossed cucumbers to them. They were VERY skeptical.
