Alright so none of you guys replied to my last post so I took that as a "WE DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR UGLY MUG IN VIDEO, UGH"

J/K I'll prolly just do a video next time 8D but I didn't want to bother getting dressed after I showered and since nobody specifically asked I was like LOL PJ BAKING and there's no way I'm filming myself in my PJs. I did skype with Amanda while I baked though and from her responses I am p sure my antics are amusing, so you can all be sure of a video eventually. I am easy to convince of my own ability to be amusing.

ANYWAYS I have photos though and everything Okay so first of all, I used this recipe, with one um...'modification'; as suggested in the comments, I upped it to three tbsp of sugar and three tsp of ground cinnamon for coating the outside of the cookies; I had some left over as a result, but I think otherwise it would have been very difficult to get a good coat on the last few cookies.

Second of all, this one was a bit of an adventure for me since I started baking at like 11PM, so everybody was asleep. I have very little confidence in my baking-on-my-own skills still, and like to have somebody (usually mom) look at the dough to be sure it's coming along...even though I am really not convinced she is a better baker than I am, IDK. So I had to go this one alone and was terrified they would come out terribly!

Here's my new workstation in the now-remodeled kitchen! Actually taken while the cookies were baking.

Now, the raw cookies, right before they went in the oven, already rolled in sugar and cinnamon:

This is when I started to be confident in them...they rolled really well and felt a good consistency. I had trouble baking them, though; I used the convection setting on our new oven, and forgot mom said it might take longer to bake that way - I ended up doing them for two minutes at a time, then taking them out to poke at them, because they were DEFINITELY still raw inside after 8 and 10 minutes. They were good at 14, though, and I love how evenly the convection cooked them. Even if it did blow hot air at me every time I opened the door.

NOTE HERE: I decided they were done when the insides were still a bit soft, but the outsides were crispy. Thus resembling the final cookie, since you're supposed to remove them from the cookie sheets immediately.

Dad tasted one first, while I was waiting for them to cool. Yeah, he woke up at 1 AM and came out to eat a cookie. I had one after he did; they're DELICIOUS.

My cookie, with a few bites taken out:

The only thing I think I might change if I did it again: I think instead of the cinnamon/sugar mix, I would just use straight-up cinnamon sugar. Or at least, I want to try it. The cinnamon, as much as I love it, is pretty strong, even with this little of it on there! I might also consider making a version with something else instead of the cream of tartar, since it doesn't seem to add any significant taste; I might just add cinnamon instead, since I've had snickerdoodles with cinnamon all the way through that I really liked.

Now, I just hope they last until Saturday, so my grandparents can get some. Maybe I'll also make more, smaller cookies next time...they're kind of, um, huge.

I'm making another batch next week, since I have all the stuff for them already, and offered to ship some to a couple of people. I'm also hoping to get my cookie cutters soon :D I wonder if sugar cookies could be made into snickerdoodles if the cinnamon is mixed into them, and then I could have shaped snickerdoodles? Perhaps cinnamon sugar should also be sprinkled on top...for the crunch.
