HEY GUYS IT'S PHOTO TIME yeah I found my USB for my camera :D :D

There's some different stuff here like some Tripper pics and the stuff we bought at the mall AND (WARNING) photos from the day of the hurricane to show the damage from the tree and lines being tugged around, so if that sort of thing is scary or triggering for you proceed with caution. I'll put those at the beginning under a first cut if you want to skip them and see just the cute photos k? K LET'S GO o u o

This is our driveway:

Notice how low the lines were hanging - almost touching the roof of the truck! And they were swinging around in the strong winds still (we didn't stay out long, this was stupid to begin with but we wanted to have photographic proof that we were literally stuck in the house for work and such). This is not the first time this has happened with the lines to our house BTW, any time there's slack in the lines for some reason a lot of it goes into our lines.

Down the street, from our driveway:

It's kind of hard to see (there'll be a closer one later) but that's where the first police tape was put up, and orange cones. Eventually it was all over the place because people on our street are not very smart and were approaching the live wire.

Up the street, again from the driveway:

You can see the tree down here. It was from our next door neighbor's yard. It's a very shallow-rooted tree and the combination of the soaked ground and the high winds just ripped it up out of the ground.

The house right across the street from us was where the downed line was:

Also not the first time we've had a downed line in EXACTLY that spot. But last time it was sparking and looked a lot more nasty. This one was still really dangerous, it's 480 volts, instant death. The woman in that house climbed over it on her way out to investigate before anybody could stop her. She was fine P: like I said, stupid people on my street.

Close-up of the police tape preventing us from leaving:

Exciting, right?

And the tree:

You can see how it caught the lines.

And here are some photos from inside that day! We played Risk.

Tripper was anxious, although I'm not sure he really noticed the power going out. The storm itself made him nervous, and he probably heard the tree come down.

He insisted on sitting next to me.

Kind of like he was guarding me.

But I think it was really for his own comfort.

OKAY THAT'S IT FOR STORM PHOTOS

This is why I was in mom and dad's room the other day when I fell asleep in there:

ISN'T HE SO CUTE?! He was unimpressed with the camera though and looked away:

Also, here is a random picture of Nikka acting like a cat for once. This is actually from last night (chronological order wut?):

Aaand now from the mall trip the other day! My new shoes:

Also, Paige saw me taking pictures and for some reason wanted you guys to see her new dress (yes, she asked me specifically to post it on LJ):

She looks cute right? Usually I help her pick out these kinds of clothes but she found this on her own (was busy eating pretzels outside the store).
