Hello new frondz 6 u 9

Hey guys! I know I got a bunch of new friends from that
ontdcreepy friending post, and actually I've gathered a lot of new friends in the past month, who knows where from. Also I am feeling a bit down today because I had to drop someone from my friendslist for unexpected homophobia. Also, having a bunch of new people watching me on their flists kind of intimidates me a little? o u o;;; I am pretty shy. So I figured we could do a little introduction thingy? By which I mean I dug up an old meme.
So here's the deal: You post in the comments and tell me three things about yourself, and ask me three questions (about whatever you want). I'll answer the questions. Then you go ahead and do it yourself in your own journal c:
(Don't worry, if you're shy too and don't want to do it or if you just hate me and don't want to actually bother to talk to me, I won't be mad or anything)
(Also old friends can do this too, it's not just for the new ones)

Date: 2012-01-01 07:36 pm (UTC)But let's see... 3 things:
1. I'm crazy, and have a tendency to make vague references to it on bad days. Then go back and privatize the entries later because I like to pretend that I am a normal, well-adjusted individual.
2. I make no promises that I am always a good person, but I make an effort to not be a bad person. My sense of humor gets me in trouble sometimes.
3. I still think your username is potato_heart. (Also, I added you to tumblr/twitter! I'm my-dinosaurlife.)
Questions:
1. What is your name/age? :D
2. Who are the important players in your life?
3. What are your instant defriend triggers?
no subject
Date: 2012-01-01 08:03 pm (UTC)And I was wondering who was adding me, LOL. I haven't been updating either tumblr or twitter much lately, unfortunately, but I'll probably go back to tumblr eventually.
And my answers:
1. My real name is Tod, although my legal name is Corinne (I reference it sometimes even though I hate it); I'm turning 21 on the 11th :3
2. My immediate family - especially my sister and my dad. I have a very strained relationship with my mom but still have to live with her ATM, but I wouldn't call her an important player, just a negative influence. My brother and I just try to stay out of each others' way these days. There's also my good friend
3. Transphobia, hands down, will probably always result in a defriend. I'm not much more tolerant of homophobia or any other kind of bigotry. I've even unfriended people for allowing people to make bigoted comments on their journal. It's not a matter of me necessarily judging them as someone I don't want to know/be internet friends with, but more a matter of me just not wanting to have to worry about seeing things that are very upsetting to me on my friendslist; and I don't like to argue with other people in their own journals unless they've invited debate. ETA oh and anybody who writes about how they don't believe in the concept of privilege. Because of the arguing thing. I can't not argue about that, so I just defriend.

Date: 2012-01-01 08:33 pm (UTC)1. I've been on a PG-13 graphical chat site centered around art and animals since I was around 13-14. (I am now 22.) I even helped moderate it when I got older, but not anymore. I still go on it from time to time to catch up with friends, so any reference to "WH" (The site's name is WolfHome.) in my LJ has to do with that.
2. Sometimes I blab a lot. Sorry. D: I don't update my LJ as often as I should, but I still try to be supportive in the comments section.
3. I love to sleep in and stay up late when I can.
Three questions for you:
1. Do you dislike curse words, or are they a-okay by you?
2. What fandoms would you say you're involved with, if any?
3. Cheeseburger, hamburger, baconburger, tofuburger, or [insert your own here]?
no subject
Date: 2012-01-01 08:41 pm (UTC)Hmmmm, I might check out WolfHome, it sounds interesting. I play on Aramii myself, and sometimes I have aramii-related picspams xD;
Answers:
1. I'm fine with curse words, although I don't swear all that often, myself. I'm more uncomfortable with slurs, and generally try never to use them, although there are a few I'm still working on completely eliminating from my vocab.
2. I suppose that depends on what one means by 'involved'. I read a lot of HP fanfic and have some Slytherin paraphernalia (a fleecy blanket and a wall hanging), but I've never gotten involved in any communities for it or anything like that. I'm a bit more active in X-Men fandom simply by virtue of having written some fanfic (both First Class and Evolution) and joined the First Class kink meme.
3. Turkeyburger! They are super tasty o u o

Date: 2012-01-01 10:07 pm (UTC)I've heard of Aramii from a few people now! I don't know too much about it, but it looks like it could be fun. Picspams are A+. :>
I hear you on the slurs. The "R-word" is one in particular that I've worked hard on removing from every day conversation.
Oh, man. Was First Class your favorite X-Men movie? :D After I saw it the first time, I decided I was overdue for an X-Men marathon... So I watched it again, along with all the rest!
no subject
Date: 2012-01-01 10:21 pm (UTC)I had some trouble with the r-word myself, since I grew up with it being tossed around so casually in my family.
Yeah, it definitely was :DDD although I liked all the movies. But First Class was AWESOME :D not the least because of how much we got to see of Hank. But I also think it was just a really well-done movie.

Date: 2012-01-01 08:39 pm (UTC)Me!
[1] I write and draw a lot. Listening to music is a dangerous thing for me because I get lost in the imagery and I get all, "Oh, that would be good for another writing/drawing project..."
[2] I have a cat named Tweak. He has no tail, just a little nub, and likes to play fetch. When I worked at a call center, I talked about him a lot in a way that people thought he was my son. As in, a human baby. Incorrect, he is superior.
[3] I'm bad at talking about myself unless someone asks me a question, so... THERE'S THE THIRD ONE YAY. :D (This part took me an hour to do because of that ffffffffffff.)
Questions!
[1] In a fight between Robo Rex and Mecha Abraham Lincoln, who do you think would win? If it helps, Robo Rex has laser eyes, but Lincoln can use his hat like a ninja star.
[2] What's the weirdest/best dream you've ever had?
[3] Favourite creepypasta?
no subject
Date: 2012-01-01 08:49 pm (UTC)I loooove cats. My last cat was a chubby ragamuffin with a heavy wheeze named Coach. He died two Christmases ago, but I still miss him :c Tweak sounds ADORABLE. And definitely superior to a human baby.
Answers:
1. Your question neglects the possibility that Mecha Abraham Lincoln and Robo Rex both probably speak a common mechanical language, allowing them to come to a truce and reign terror on their fleshy inferiors together.
2. Hmmm, that's a good question. I don't often remember my good dreams TBH, so I'll go with weirdest. When I was younger I had a recurring nightmare where my dad would accidentally bring home a plastic wand with a star on it (like a costume sort of wand) that made us all into headless monsters, which we could only fix by finding our heads. Mine was hidden somewhere dark so I had no idea how to find it.
3. I would have to say Candle Cove (http://www.ichorfalls.com/2009/03/15/candle-cove/) is my all-time favorite.
no subject
Date: 2012-01-01 08:59 pm (UTC)Awww! ;3; Coach sounds like he was a doll. I also have pictures of Tweak, if you want to see him? (I try to pull these out at any given opportunity.)
On #1, touché.

Date: 2012-01-01 09:03 pm (UTC)Three Things:
1. This is my favorite band- Girlyman They're awesome live.
2. I grew up in a white, conservative, homophobic small town in Washington State. I've since gotten as far away as possible, with both my views and causes I support, and moving from WA to DC.
3. I majored in Latin American Studies, and lived in El Salvador for damn near a year. I miss it every day.
Questions for you:
1. What's the story behind your username?
2. What are you studying/interested in studying?
3. What's your favorite creepy book,story,song, etc?
Re: O hai!
Date: 2012-01-01 09:22 pm (UTC)Answers:
1. Ahaha, well, first of all, the first bit (poto) is an acronym for Phantom of the Opera, which I've always been a huge fan of. There's a bit more behind it - this journal was actually named for a Neopets account I had at the time, I had some grand plan linking the two of them together - but that's the basics of it.
2. I'm currently double-majoring in economics and psychology (with an unofficial focus on statistics). I'm interested in a lot of things though, and wish I had time to do a minor in addition to my double major, although in what, I'm not sure yet; probably a language.
3. I'm terrible at picking favorites xD; um, since I already mentioned a musical here (Phantom of the Opera) and at the ontdcreepy meme I mentioned a book (Misery)...a creepy song I really enjoy is Seven Devils by Florence and the Machine (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=hBcXe2B97TQ).
Bonus Fact: The Exclamation Point is My Favorite Punctuation.
Date: 2012-01-01 09:44 pm (UTC)I'm a big musicals fan! The current favorite is a tossup between Spring Awakening and Bare.
My Dad's actually a math teacher, and he taught stats for about 40 years.
I like the song! I have two favorite creepy musicians: Emilie Autumn
And Jason Webley
Re: Bonus Fact: The Exclamation Point is My Favorite Punctuation.
Date: 2012-01-01 09:47 pm (UTC)I also like Emilie Autumn! Well, some of her stuff. I'll have to investigate Jason Webley.
Re: Bonus Fact: The Exclamation Point is My Favorite Punctuation.
Date: 2012-01-01 09:59 pm (UTC)Jason Webley is definitely all of those. Not all of his songs are creepy, some of them are just silly

Date: 2012-01-01 09:16 pm (UTC)I don't have much of an intro thing set up... I do tend to be rather shy about many things, but also pretty willing to share. Like... if you ask me something pretty specific I'll answer it in tl;dr form, but I feel awkward sharing things of my own volition. So I don't know three things that would be worthwhile to share about me...
Um...
1. My journal is often neglected for long periods, because I'm a huge procrastinator, and I just never seem to get around to making the many posts I start planning out. I'm trying to be more on top of sharing the long picture posts and things close to when they happen, not months later.
2. That said, I do intend to try and keep up with it a little better now. I don't know how successful I'll be, but I'm hoping!
3. I also feel intimidated when I have new people watching my journal! I want friends (and have lost a lot of LJ friends to inactivity or other sites) but am always afraid of upsetting people I don't know well. I do try to keep my journal representative of how important social justice issues are to me, (i.e. I try very hard to keep sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia and all out of it as entirely as I'm capable) but I'm also imperfect and don't always shine as a perfect example of the person I wish I could always be.
Questions for you:
1. Have anything in particular that you find triggering? That seems like an awkward as hell question to ask, but I sometimes fail to post trigger warnings for things that I don't realize may be triggering... so if you have some types of content you're not good with reading or having on your f-list, I don't mind putting you on a filter or at the least trying to be mindful.
2. What is your favorite animal and/or do you have any pets?
3. What do you like posting about the most and what do you like reading about the most when it comes to blogs/journals?
no subject
Date: 2012-01-01 09:34 pm (UTC)I am very similar, thus why I am making you all ask me questions o u o so I definitely understand. It's like, I have no idea what people are actually interested in knowing about me? x3;
Answers:
1. What a considerate question! cc: unfortunately I don't have a very helpful answer, LOL. Yeah, I have discovered lately that there are things that are triggering to me, but it's something I'm still getting used to, and I'm kind of discovering triggers as I go. They're also kind of um, really specific things? Like the way some people repeat the phrase 'sick of it' three times. Or the viewpoint that people who have a good memory are really difficult to put up with romantically. So my point is yes but don't worry about it because I can't even tell you what most of them are, LOL.
2. I have a lot of favorite animals! I love animals. My favorite favorites are...vultures, constrictor snakes, crocodillians, and corvids. And I currently have one pet, my dog Tripper. He has a few tags and I do picspams of him all the time. There's also my sister's cat, Nikka, but she is definitely not my pet and absolutely hates me for no reason.
3. Hmmm, that's a good question. Well, these days, I enjoy posting about everything that I post on, because I wouldn't post about it if I didn't like it (that might seem kind of obvious to say, but I used to try and write what I thought people wanted to read about). I guess my favorite thing to write on is social justice issues though, especially things addressed to allies (like this (http://poto-heart.livejournal.com/120295.html)) because I feel like I'm actually doing something useful. As for what I enjoy reading about the most...just about anything. I really love picspams though, especially of pets ccc:

Date: 2012-01-01 09:49 pm (UTC)I feel honour bound to point out Nikka is not completely irrational.
You have a lovely mutual glare thing going on. You torment her, and she plots to leave headless things in your bed.

Date: 2012-01-01 11:22 pm (UTC)I love animals, too! I love snakes of all kinds, and corvids are awesome! Magpies especially!
I have... one dog (a husky,) two (soon to be three) rats, a garter snake, a toad, and two tarantulas. There will probably be picspams of them! And picspams of hikes and things, when I have the time and the fair weather to go on them.
I find sj issues very important, but post about them... semi infrequently. I talk about them more in comms than in my own journal. But I look forward to having more of it on my friends page. (And I really like that post you linked to. That's some really good information that I'll most definitely keep in mind.)

Date: 2012-01-01 09:55 pm (UTC)2. My dog is snoring ridiculously loud and I think it's ADORABLE because I have issues.
3. I still haven't worked out how to add more icon spaces even though I paid for them AND I got an LJ support letter about how to do it. I KIND OF FEEL LIKE I FAIL.
QUESTIONS FOR YOU.
1. Right. Oi. You. WHY DON'T YOU LIVE UNDER MY BED?
2. What the hell is that behind you? YES THAT.
3. Why did I find one of your spy cameras on my shelf again last night? WE HAVE TALKED ABOUT THIS.

2. That is just Slendy, he's over to hang out and tentacle some things for me.

2. What's your favorite fruit?
3. What is the scariest moment in a horror movie for you?

Date: 2012-01-02 06:20 pm (UTC)ANSWERS!
1. That's kind of a complicated question for me, LOL. I'm a sort of pagan/Christian mix. Most Christians would probably tell me I'm not Christian at all buuuut I do not care. My primary god is Anubis and my secondary god is the Christian god c:
2. STRAWBERRIES. Especially dipped in chocolate. I got a double-boiler just to make them myself.
3. Those tense moments leading up to a scare. I have to hide my eyes every time oAo;
