Hello new frondz 6 u 9

Hey guys! I know I got a bunch of new friends from that
ontdcreepy friending post, and actually I've gathered a lot of new friends in the past month, who knows where from. Also I am feeling a bit down today because I had to drop someone from my friendslist for unexpected homophobia. Also, having a bunch of new people watching me on their flists kind of intimidates me a little? o u o;;; I am pretty shy. So I figured we could do a little introduction thingy? By which I mean I dug up an old meme.
So here's the deal: You post in the comments and tell me three things about yourself, and ask me three questions (about whatever you want). I'll answer the questions. Then you go ahead and do it yourself in your own journal c:
(Don't worry, if you're shy too and don't want to do it or if you just hate me and don't want to actually bother to talk to me, I won't be mad or anything)
(Also old friends can do this too, it's not just for the new ones)

Date: 2012-01-01 09:16 pm (UTC)I don't have much of an intro thing set up... I do tend to be rather shy about many things, but also pretty willing to share. Like... if you ask me something pretty specific I'll answer it in tl;dr form, but I feel awkward sharing things of my own volition. So I don't know three things that would be worthwhile to share about me...
Um...
1. My journal is often neglected for long periods, because I'm a huge procrastinator, and I just never seem to get around to making the many posts I start planning out. I'm trying to be more on top of sharing the long picture posts and things close to when they happen, not months later.
2. That said, I do intend to try and keep up with it a little better now. I don't know how successful I'll be, but I'm hoping!
3. I also feel intimidated when I have new people watching my journal! I want friends (and have lost a lot of LJ friends to inactivity or other sites) but am always afraid of upsetting people I don't know well. I do try to keep my journal representative of how important social justice issues are to me, (i.e. I try very hard to keep sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia and all out of it as entirely as I'm capable) but I'm also imperfect and don't always shine as a perfect example of the person I wish I could always be.
Questions for you:
1. Have anything in particular that you find triggering? That seems like an awkward as hell question to ask, but I sometimes fail to post trigger warnings for things that I don't realize may be triggering... so if you have some types of content you're not good with reading or having on your f-list, I don't mind putting you on a filter or at the least trying to be mindful.
2. What is your favorite animal and/or do you have any pets?
3. What do you like posting about the most and what do you like reading about the most when it comes to blogs/journals?

Answers:
1. What a considerate question! cc: unfortunately I don't have a very helpful answer, LOL. Yeah, I have discovered lately that there are things that are triggering to me, but it's something I'm still getting used to, and I'm kind of discovering triggers as I go. They're also kind of um, really specific things? Like the way some people repeat the phrase 'sick of it' three times. Or the viewpoint that people who have a good memory are really difficult to put up with romantically. So my point is yes but don't worry about it because I can't even tell you what most of them are, LOL.
2. I have a lot of favorite animals! I love animals. My favorite favorites are...vultures, constrictor snakes, crocodillians, and corvids. And I currently have one pet, my dog Tripper. He has a few tags and I do picspams of him all the time. There's also my sister's cat, Nikka, but she is definitely not my pet and absolutely hates me for no reason.
3. Hmmm, that's a good question. Well, these days, I enjoy posting about everything that I post on, because I wouldn't post about it if I didn't like it (that might seem kind of obvious to say, but I used to try and write what I thought people wanted to read about). I guess my favorite thing to write on is social justice issues though, especially things addressed to allies (like this (http://poto-heart.livejournal.com/120295.html)) because I feel like I'm actually doing something useful. As for what I enjoy reading about the most...just about anything. I really love picspams though, especially of pets ccc:

You have a lovely mutual glare thing going on. You torment her, and she plots to leave headless things in your bed.

Date: 2012-01-01 11:22 pm (UTC)I love animals, too! I love snakes of all kinds, and corvids are awesome! Magpies especially!
I have... one dog (a husky,) two (soon to be three) rats, a garter snake, a toad, and two tarantulas. There will probably be picspams of them! And picspams of hikes and things, when I have the time and the fair weather to go on them.
I find sj issues very important, but post about them... semi infrequently. I talk about them more in comms than in my own journal. But I look forward to having more of it on my friends page. (And I really like that post you linked to. That's some really good information that I'll most definitely keep in mind.)
