Oh god I woke up and I feel sick :C THIS IS MY FIRST DAY OF SPRING VACATION DON'T DO THIS TO ME STOMACH

Anyways but guys so I want to go clothes-shopping this week. This will literally be the first time I've willingly initiated going clothes-shopping for myself, because I used to absolutely HATE it, probably because it always consisted of mom picking out a million shirts I didn't like, putting me in the dressing room, and having me show her each one and let her make the final decision, and if I vetoed too many she'd start getting pissed. IDEK why she would want to play dress-up with me, the fat one. Maybe it was an effort to make me less embarrassing to her.

BUT ANYWAYS I was going somewhere with this and it wasn't whining about my mom. Okay here we go:

So right now my wardrobe consists, and I mean 100%, of t-shirts from threadless.com, a few superhero-themed shirts from various places, jeans, and a random assortment of hoodies. That is honest to god all I have to wear. And it's not that I don't like wearing this stuff, I LOVE threadless.com and I love my hoodies and so on, but, like, I would like to branch out a bit! My end goal style is actually really formal, I think by Senior year I'll probably be that guy who wears slacks and button-ups to college classes lmfao. And waistcoats, oh my god, I've always been in love with waist coats.

I'M GETTING OFF TRACK AGAIN. I CAN'T BUY A FUCKING WAIST COAT AT THE MALL that's actually not true because they have a formal menswear place now that I seriously drool at whenever we go in (AND IT IS FULL OF WAISTCOATS), but I can't afford anything in there and I am betting very high that dad won't buy me anything in there, and besides I want to wait on expensive clothing until after top surgery because it probably won't fit me right anyways, because, you know, when you're fat it's actually hard to get binders to fit you in a normal-looking way, let alone in a consistent way.

Oh my god why can't I get to the point?

HERE'S THE POINT:

I want to buy this stuff this week:

  • cargo pants (to wear with my leather jacket? and also just in general? but I realized lately that jeans+leather jacket makes me look like an italian-american asshole, which is kind of what I am but I would prefer not to give people warning)
  • slacks in beige and black
  • button-up/collared shirts, ESPECIALLY IN PURPLE (Paige has to buy a men's button-up in purple as well for a cosplay and I was already planning on purple because it is my favorite color to wear EVER and anyways my point is that we will buy at least one matching pair of shirts and look awesome together)

And here's the second point I was getting to:

I am only kind of middling at fashion and at dressing myself because I just kind of went with the flow and let mom put clothes on me forever. So basically if you guys have any suggestions at all PLEASE HELP ME DRESS MYSELF.

Also, should I bother to buy a tie or two, considering I don't actually have a suit to wear them with? I've only seen button-up suits worn with ties but no suit involved in high school, when the jocks had to do it for game day. This is a level of formal, right? How formal is that?
Is there any chance I'll need to wear a tie in the foreseeable future? Oh god help I don't know anything about this stuff

P.S. I really really want these boots but it's not happening, ever.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, it seems like, wedding-formal. Which would be nice to have. Although dad also has a nice collection of ties that I could just borrow from.
