Who DOESN'T want to listen to me talk?

Been playing around with making videos on my camera, and figured I might as well share a few of the videos I took :P
First is a video of Paige's cat/familiar Nikka. She was sleeping in Paige's room and being uncharacteristically cute, so of course I had to bother her :P the only person she cares about in the house is Paige, so...
And yes, that is really the noise Paige makes if you pinch (or tickle) her.
Then, Tripper hates squirrels, so I teased him about it a bit, but he got bored pretty quick and wanted me to go back to throwing the ball for him :P
And finally, some people wanted to see pictures of the yellow sack spiders in our house. I did one better (worse?) and took video instead :D
I wish I could have gotten some of them moving, but they move too fast for me to follow, considering how far I have to zoom in to get a good picture of them. They're fast buggers. They're also really athletic; I wanted to get some of the webs they leave stretching across rooms; safety lines from jumping between objects while they're hunting. The camera doesn't pick up web well, though. Last night I walked into the kitchen without turning the light on and literally almost got a spider in the face :P she seemed to be in the middle of a jump from the ceiling to the garbage can, which I interrupted, and she landed on the wall instead.
They do creep me out, but they're honestly not that hard to avoid usually. I actually just follow the same rules one would to avoid skunks...turn on a light before stepping outside/into a room, make some noise so they know you're there, and keep out of places they need to be (in this case, the living room, which they all come into from the garage to hunt at night).

Date: 2011-05-13 05:50 pm (UTC)And yeah they are fascinating :D although also kind of creepy since because they roam around to hunt, they'll turn up pretty much anywhere at night, running at TOP SPEED. I mean like, the floor, on top of furniture, ON TOP OF ME, etc.
