Wooooo summer!

The animals have started enjoying summer already!
Tripper celebrated the warm weather by sticking his face in poison ivy. He does this every year. I'm not sure if it's because he can't distinguish poison ivy from other plants due to dog-grade eyesight, or, more likely, even if he could distinguish it, he doesn't relate it to the resulting rash...
Nikka started off her hunting season by dragging a wasp inside. It stung her on the eyelid, and she left it alive in the basement, where it then stung Derek (who is honestly just as dumb as she is) on the foot and the hand. He claims he wasn't playing with it, but I have ample experience with wasps and they generally aren't big stingers...then again, it had been bitten and dragged into the house, so it was probably already very agitated.
Tripper's face is starting to itch, but Nikka's eye cleared up within a day. I think this is actually the first time she's gotten herself stung by something. Reminds me of Tybalt; he caught a carpenter ant once, and it latched onto his lip with its mandibles...he apparently bit or pawed the rest of its body off, but its head hung on. We thought it was a tick at first.
