I finished the fish!

And the unfortunate photo of the fingerholes...

I think it came out pretty good :D I can make it 'swim', but not as well as I could before I stuffed it; I think I overstuffed it a bit.

And yes - I did use button eyes - regular eyes seemed like they would look kind of creepy? Anyways, here's a quick picture of fishfish on top of my couch with the other plushes :D the only one I didn't make there is the lobster on the far left.

Anyways, I still have to come up with a bit of character for the fish and what kind of play I might use it in; I'll do that while I'm at work.

That material looks really soft and nice to the touch. What is it? Nice work on all of these. My favorite, I think, is the brownish-orange bunny-esque critter to the left. Do you make the patterns yourself from scratch, or are they modified from another base?

This guy is made entirely of minky, which is pretty much my favorite fabric ever. Specifically, his body is made of one of the 'minky dot fabrics' from Minky Delight (http://minkydelight.com/), which is my fave minky supplier :D if you go to Joanne's Fabrics you've probably seen minky in the form of their 'faux furs' which are actually long-fiber minky for the most part, and they sometimes carry 'ultra cuddle' fabric, which is what Minky Delight calls Minky Ultimate Plush Fabric. I loooove minky because it is indeed VERY soft, and makes very handsome plushes with a nice sheen to them :D you can especially see how nice it can look on the red-and-black bat above; I love that color of minky fabric, it's so pretty. The only thing about minky is that it tends to shed a lot while cutting, even the standard smooth minky.

Sorry for the infodump, I tend to do that :P

I make my patterns from scratch now, but I've used and altered other people's patterns before. Of the ones you can see in that photo in this post, I made the patterns for the fish, both bats, the all-white bunny with squarish sticking-up ears, and that weird tan and brown thing on the far right. For the tannish-brown jackalope/bunny and the white-and-purple roundish bunny, I altered the Kwoozy bunny pattern (http://kwoozy.blogspot.com/2006/05/kwoozy-rabbit-and-carrot-pattern.html), which I loved so much I used it three times :P you can't see the first one there because despite it being my first ever plush and therefor not very great at all, my dad and little brother fought over who got to keep it. The jackalope was the last one I made from somebody else's pattern before I started making my own, I think.
