Hurricane Weather, Dead Friends

potato_headSo, I found out recently that a very good friend of mine that I haven't been in touch with (I met him through work; he moved away) died earlier this year, of cancer. I wasn't even aware he was sick.
As far as the weather goes...the hurricane proper is supposed to hit us tomorrow. The rain started about two hours ago - pouring - it's sort of coming and going. I'm scheduled to work tomorrow, and the only way we'll close is extensive flooding or if the power at the store goes out. So...we'll see what happens.
Tripper is very restless. I think he was worried about me with the storm starting while I was still at work. He's been following me around and refusing to leave my side since I got home, except a few times to pace the house and check on everybody. He keeps demanding I pet him, too.
