Holidaymas Begins

potato_headSome Christmas-y things I've been doing!
First, Paige and I (with dad's assistance) did this Gingerbread Christmas Tree kit.
I think considering both of us have NO prior experience decorating with frosting, it came out pretty good. I did the green, Paige did the candies, and we both did the white. The green frosting was a bit softer than I would have liked, so it didn't quite hold its shape, but oh well o u o
And we did cookie mix jars for relatives! In this case, 'we' is me with dad's assistance.
The ones in front are malted milk chocolate chip cookies, with holiday-colored M&M's rather than chocolate chips. The ones in back are snickerdoodles. Both recipes were modified a bit to make them more jar-friendly, and I cut the recipes in half as well because otherwise they wouldn't have fit in the jars. The sugar is at the top wrapped in plastic c:
The jars we bought at The Christmas Tree Shop. There's also one in back that you can't really see that is different, Mom got it at...the dollar store probably. We have a few others we got at the dollar store as well but they were too small.
We still have to add the recipe tags. I've designed them, they look like such:
We're going to print them on cardstock, glue front and back together (we could print on either side, but the cardstock we have is a bit on the flimsy side, so doubling up seems better) and hole-punch and use ribbon to attach it.
And finally, a musicshare! I know that I am rather odd in enjoying all Christmas/holiday songs and never getting bored of them (at least not in the scant month and a half we are surrounded by them oAo SO MUCH CHEER, SO LITTLE TIME) so instead I gift you music that is not holiday at all.
