BACK TO SCHOOL

Sooo all moved into dorm and (finally) got wireless working! I'm in a double again this year (ugh) but my roommate is pretty cool! I mean, has all of Cardcaptor Sakura in the original Japanese but blue-ray quality on DVD cool. And she RPs and is also a Slytherclaw and loves Marvel over DC (but still likes Batman), reads tarot and runes, and is fine with me being trans and knows other transguys, kind of cool. :D I mean she's not perfect but we get along well.

We are also both of the understanding that as much as we like each other, we want single rooms, LOL. So we are supporting each others efforts to try and get a single room because if one moves out, the other gets the double to themselves, for this semester at least.

It actually looks like the other double in our suite is empty??? So one of us might be able to move in there :O then we could share a common room and it would be AWESOME. *crossed fingers*


Anyways have done some tarot readings here as well, just to settle myself in. My Fantastic Menagerie deck seems to like me a lot more now, lol. Also, have been using the cloths I bought for them even though I haven't hemmed them yet. Just have to be careful so they don't fray too much. I'll have to cut them to size anyways, I got half a yard each, which is really unnecessarily large lol.

Academics

ALSO forgot to mention so this gets its own whole new post now

I talked with Dad about the possibility of me changing majors and he was actually really cool with it. And happily he takes my approach to school-is-for-learning-not-for-degrees so he said he doesn't consider the money we spent on business classes to be a waste. In fact he says if I do end up not wanting to do business degree it is totally fine if I keep taking business classes just because I'm interested in it (he understands I still love business, just don't need a degree in it)

Anyways SO as I know I filtered the original post on this here's the low-down for those of you who are curious: Thus far I've been double-majoring in psychology and business (concentration:management) but after a lot of thought this summer have decided I am going to drop my business major and just go for psychology with a concentration in research/statistics.

Oh and also more cool things about my roommate: she likes a lot of the same music as me. Including stuff like anime music and Linkin Park (what's playing now) and Evanescence and so on. And she has one of those ipod docks with speakers and has been playing music literally non-stop since we settled in (both of us used to sleeping with background noise). I forgot what a positive effect sleeping with constant music has on my dreams.

Went to see a comedian on campus with my roommate 8D

Y U NO IMPRESS

Last year I would have just laid around in my room like a shy slug lol

But we went and it was TONS OF FUN and we both had umbrellas (I had my best one that I bought in China) so we looked super cool together

And the comedian was SUPER FUNNY and only a little privilegebutt so I enjoyed it. Apparently he's been on Late Night with Conan O'Brien sooo probably pretty good. His name was Michael somethingorother but ANYWAYS

It was a lot of fun and there was rain and it is not as hot anymore

And I can enjoy social contact even when miserable from period (ow) and surrounded by freshman (they got ~paw points for going to it b/c first week stuff is technically orientation events even thou there's comedians and such throughout the year) (some of them tried to start a slow clap omfg such highschoolers luckily it did not get far & the freshman closest us had their unimpress face on)

I almost didn't go you know, it's because I forgot to read my tarot cards this morning. EVERY SINGLE MORNING I HAVE TO they would have reminded me to do this and not be so scr.

Tomorrow is first day of classes! Barely remember what I am taking, not very excited about any of it except Psychology of Learning kind of. This is part of why I decided to change my major, school should not be a chore for me of all people
