outdatedclocks has pointed out that my lower-back/hip problems, and my leg problems, are probably all related to the issues I have with my feet (lack of arches?). I've been making do with CVS-brand arch support pads, but they're not really enough, and I'd like to be able to do some cardio and upper-body stuff again, which I can't really now since my back hurts alllll the time. I'd been putting off talking to my doctor about it because of my terrible experiences with my last one...even though this one's shown no indication she's suddenly going to go all 'you're lying, you must be sneaking nachos in the middle of the night, fatty' on me. In fact, she'll probably be happy to help me out, since she wants me exercising before I go on T since I have a genetic disposition towards hypertension (dad's been hospitalized for it).BTW, for those curious about the whole doctor saga, since I've posted it around a few places but not actually here at my main journal I think (since I just realized last night

ocelotofdoom, we might be hanging out this weekend :D or rather, probably are. I am still working out the logistics, I think I'll stay on campus this weekend and take the train into the city. It would mean missing a therapy appointment, but I've skipped weeks in the past (or rather, therapist has cancelled on me) so I know it won't do any damage emotionally or to my comfort level with him.Okay I really should go to class 6 u 9;;

Date: 2012-01-23 08:45 pm (UTC)HOLY FUCK DUDE. I just read your F,DNH article and omg. You could totally file a complaint with the health board (or whatever) against that doctor for being a total douche.
I remember when I was a teenager, I had horrible stomach pains all the time. My normal doctor was away on vacation when an episode hit and I went in to see his sub (or whatever). It didn't matter that I wasn't sexually active, she just kept telling me that the pain must be because I'm pregnant. I mean, that the entire appointment. It was COMPLETELY ridiculous, and we ended up complaining about her to my normal doctor. because whatthefuck, check your bullshit at the door so that you can actually TREAT me. Unbelievable.

Date: 2012-01-23 09:29 pm (UTC)Yeah everybody wants me to file a complaint against her/sue her...unfortunately I'm kind of in a tough place there in a way that's difficult to describe; basically my mom is not on my side here at all and won't stop sending my siblings to said doctor, and nor will she back me up if I tried to do anything, which I would need her to because she was there for many of my visits with the doctor and talked with her several times. And she has a history of denying things that blatantly happened. So I think it would end up being my word vs the doctor's AND hers =/

And yeah. But TBH it's something I'm used to at this point, my mom is...generally unsupportive. Mostly it pisses me off that this woman can just keep going on as she is and I can't say anything about it; and she's unlikely to get called on it since she's generally a pediatrician, so a lot of the patients she's probably doing wrong by are too young to advocate for themselves. Hopefully some fierce parent will go after her sooner rather than later.
